Wichita Downtown Development Corporation
Howerton+White was chosen to produce four television spots to follow the current brand promise of WDDC: Life Happens Here. While out-of-town developers see Downtown Wichita as a hot spot for commercial and residential redevelopment, it was time for residents of Wichita to take notice of the changing, thriving activity happening right in the heart of the city. The INTRUST Bank Arena, warehouses transformed into swanky lofts and condos, the WaterWalk development along the river, and new restaurants and shops are all bringing new life to Downtown.
The challenge was to create compelling spots on a limited budget, in a short amount of time, without the benefit of finished construction on key projects. H+W created a series of spots featuring images of Downtown in all its variety — from construction zones to espresso machines — set to a jazz guitar beat. The four spots are lifestyle driven and are a video collage of what life looks like Downtown.
